What It Do!


What It Do is about a young girl named Victoria Johnson. 

A day before her high school graduation, Victoria finds out that she is adopted.  Her biological mother has popped up and now wants Victoria to come and visit with her for the summer.  But Victoria only knows the gated community she has grown up in, her biological mother lives somewhere called "Oakville", a place that everyone keeps warning Victoria about.  Victoria experiences a lot, and has to grow up from a gated community girl, into a more mature young lady, understanding more about the 'real' world.



Hi, I'm Natalya, author of What It Do!  I'd have to say that I enjoyed writing this story.  It reminded me a lot of how I looked at growing up in Oakland, CA.  Even though the story is not about me personally, I can honestly say there are some great similarities - but I believe you will say the same thing too.  If you grew up in an environment like Oakland, then you'll love, What It Do!
