Beauty

Michelle
and her new little one

Hair Naturally...

Last month, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with an old friend, Michelle Stansberry.  If beauty is seeing someone’s inner spirit, then I would have to add Michelle to the list of very beautiful people.

What captured my attention about her this time was her zest for wearing her hair naturally.  As times changes so does the environment, society and cultures.  What’s new to our culture is wearing the hair more natural - what that 'usually' means is, without chemicals, heat and/or gels.  There are so many unique and different styles that you can wear, and techniques that keep your hair soft, beautiful and shinny.

I would like to invite you to click on the link below entitled "Michelle's Journey" and visit her YouTube channel where she talks about her change, from processed hair, to natural hair.

Also, Michelle has a channel where she is showing you how sophisticated a lady can be - Naturally!

Please check out her YouTube channels and if you decide to go natural, let us know.

Fashion with Willow Smith

Willow Smith is the daughter of Will and Jada Smith and the sister of Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid movie).  Last week she was in Italy for their fashion week.

One thing for sure, you have to know what you want to do in life.  Little Ms. Willow seems like she already has a clue and her parents are helping to guide her.  Whether you want to become a doctor or a teacher, a lawyer or a police officer, a singer or a fashion model, no matter what, the earlier you know, the sooner you can begain working on your career.

Take a look at some other photos:

She has a catchy new song that I heard on youtube, check it out and see if you like it.

Culture - Night at the Opera

Who knew that an evening at the Opera could be so interesting...

A scene from Figaro

Contributed by Noble Hughes,
What’s not to love about Mozart?  Yes, that Mozart with a weird hairdo and classical music!  And last night was Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco.  Clear blue skies, slight cool breeze, patchy fog in the horizon, all set the mood inside the quaint opera house.  I’m not an opera connoisseur or a critic, but I love going to the opera because after a full day at work, it’s quite refreshing to be awed, enchanted even, to listen to the music of Mozart, and to watch a lively performance on stage.  The Marriage of Figaro was a stellar production worth a night out in the city.  My thought, it was a maddeningly fantastic opera.  Quoting Richard Scheinin from MercuryNews.com, ‘It’s like being inside a night-at-the opera painting by Degas.’  Indeed.

Speaking of Degas, at the de Young Museum, Post-Impressionist Masterpieces from the Musee d’Orsay – Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, and Beyond – would be on display starting September 25, 2010 thru January 18, 2011.  So check it out.  The de Young Museum is located at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118 (415) 750-3600.

Noble Hughes is a short story writer.  Her first story Aida was published in an anthology (Love & Lust, 2008) and her second  i-Harmony.net was published in another anthology (Hotel China, 2009) both published by the Hong Kong Writers’ Circle.  For more information, post a comment and Mrs. Hughes will respond.

Concert Review

First thing I always do on the blog is add an old school song.  I do this because the songs from back in the day have really great messages.  And while some of you probably have heard them on the radio and some of you have not, it's the lyrics that I think we all should hear and learn from.

The song for this week is Happy Feeling's, by Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly.  I chose it, because on Saturday, I went to a concert which headline them and they were great - LIKED-ED IT!!!! :)

The concert was so fun!  Will Downing, Cameo, Gladys Knight, and of course Maze featuring Frankie Beverly.

Will Downing is so mellow, relaxing and finger popping, - young men can learn a thing or two listening to this guy's lyrics.

Cameo - WORD-UP, their act was sweet as CANDY!  They still sound exactly the same.

Ms. Gladys, Ms. Sophisticated herself, I will definitely have to get an interview with her.  At 60-something, she put on a dynamic show.  And talk about can sing, no, she can sang!  Ladies like Gladys Knight teach sophistication.

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, or is it Frankie Beverly featuring Maze?  I don't know, but which ever it is, they both make bea-U-ti-ful music together :).  You know it's a good time when the entire audience is up on their feet dancing, singing and having a good time!

I love my old school.  And you will too, when you are telling your kids, "chile we went to see Chris Brown, he still can dance!" :)

Happy Feelings by Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly

Doo-doo-doo-doo-dah-dooooh
Doo-doo-doo-doo-dah-dooooh
Doo-doo-doo-doo-dah-dooooh
Doo-doo-doo-doo-dah-dooooh

Oooh-oooh, Happy feelin's in the air
Touchin' people everywhere
Plenty love and everything
Listen to the people sing

I've got myself
To remind me of love
My mind and my heart, girl
I believe in above
And these happy feelin's (Feel that happy feeling)
I'll spread them all over the world
From deep in my soul I wish you
Happy Feelin's (You and me)
Happy Feelin's (Aye, Aye, Aye,Aye)
Happy Feelin's (Yeah, Alright)
Happy Feelin's

I've seen the light
Watched it shine down on me
I'm gonna spread my wings, yeah
And I'm gonna tell all I seen
These happy feelin's (Feel that happy feeling)
I spread them all over the world
From deep in my soul,
Oooooooooooooh

(Instrumental Break)

Spread it all over,
Spread it all over
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Happy, happy, happy, happy feelin's
Happy feelin's
Happy feelin's (Yeah, alright)
Happy feelin's (Oooh-oooh)

I've got myself
To remind me of love
I've got my mind and my heart, yeah
And I believe, I believe, I believe in above
And these happy feelin's, ooooh (Feel that happy feeling)
I'll spread them all over the world
These happy feelin's, yeah (Feel that happy feeling)
I'll spread them all overd the world
These happy, happy feelin's (Feel that happy feeling)
I'll spread them all over the world
Feel I've got to live, yeah, alright (Feel that happy feeling)
Feel I've got to live, yeah, everyday (Feel that happy feeling
Feel I've got to live, yeah (Feel that happy feeling)
Feel I've got to live, yeah, oh yeah (Feel that happy feeling)
Oooooooooohh

Oh-oh, yea-eah, happy, happy, happy, happy feelin's
Ooooh, happy feelin's, oh yeah, alright
